How this forecast worksBagaimana ramalan ini berfungsi
Malaysia's RON97 and market diesel are a managed float. Every Thursday, KPDNHEP resets them using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), which tracks the regional refined-fuel market (MOPS) — and that closely shadows Brent crude oil.
When we have enough overlapping Brent-and-price history, we measure how many sen the pump price has historically moved per US-dollar change in Brent, then apply this week's Brent move. When Brent data is thin, we fall back to the fuel's own recent weekly momentum. The "track record" above is a genuine walk-forward test — at each past week we only used data available then.
This is an unofficial estimate, not the government price. Global oil can swing on short notice, so treat it as a heads-up, not a guarantee. RON95 is excluded because it is subsidised and fixed at RM1.99 under Budi95.
